Word of Gratitude
I have read somewhere in a forum way back that I forgot which forum is it and I want to simply share it to everyone as a sort of “food for a thought of the day”. Read the following story and it would be great if you can say something.
A woman baked bread for members of her family and an extra one for a hungry passerby. She kept the extra bread on the window-sill, for whosoever would take it away. Every day, a hunch-back came and took away the bread. Instead of expressing gratitude, he muttered the following words as he went his way:
"The evil you do remains with you: The good you do, comes back to you!"
This went on, day after day. Every day, the hunch-back came, picked up the bread and uttered the words:
"The evil you do remains with you: The good you do, comes back to you!"
The woman felt irritated. "Not a word of gratitude," she said to herself..."Everyday this hunch-back utters this jingle! What does he mean?
"One day, out of desperation, she decided to do away with him.”I shall get rid of this hunch-back," she said.
And what did she do?
She added poison to the bread she prepared for him! As she was about to place it on the window sill, her hands trembled. "What is this I am doing?" she said.
Immediately she threw the bread into the fire, prepared another one and kept it on the window-sill. As usual, the hunch-back came, picked up the bread and muttered the words:
"The evil you d remains with you: The good you do, comes back to you!"
The hunch-back proceeded on his way, blissfully unaware of the war raging in the mind of the woman. Every day, as the woman placed the bread on the window-sill, she offered a prayer for her son who had gone to a distant place to seek his fortune. For many months, she had no news of him. She prayed for his safe return.
That evening, there was a knock on the door. As she opened it, she was surprised to find her son standing in the doorway. He had grown thin and lean. His garments were tattered and torn. He was hungry, starved and weak.
As he saw his mother, he said, "Mom, it's a miracle I'm here. While I was but a mile away, I was so hungry that I collapsed. I would have died, but just then an old hunch-back passed by. I begged of him for a small part of his food, and he was kind enough to give me the whole bread.
"As he gave it to me, he said, "This is what I eat everyday: today, I shall give it to you, for your need is greater than mine!"
"As the mother heard those words, her face turned pale and red. She leaned against the door for support. She remembered the poisoned bread that she had made that morning. Had she not burnt it in the fire, it would have been eaten by her own son, and he would have lost his life! It was then that she realized the significance of the words:
"The evil you do remains with you: The good you do, comes back to you!"
Do good and don't ever stop doing it even if it’s not appreciated at that time.

Time travel so fast...
This is my entry to Techie She Lucky Blogger Weekly Giveaway Week 13. This week’s prize is $10 paypal cash credit from Gagay of My FREE Travels and Tours.
First of all, this will serve as an apology to my followers (if there's any) most especially to the loyal EC droppers of Be a Lifesaver Of Goodness. I did not abandoned this blog, it's just our internet in the house was disconnected earlier this month and it was just this morning that we are able to connect to the world wide web. If you scroll down to the next post, you'll noticed how long it was already from my last post here and I am just glad I can now update this blog more often for there are so many things to say especially that I came from a shortened 3-week vacation.
But then time travel so fast and September is just around the corner. September has a lot of things to remember especially when it comes to my line of work. It's the month that the only EMS service in Cebu will celebrate it's anniversary and this year is so specially to all the members and volunteers since it will the Silver Anniversary. It looks like just yesterday when I left the rescue group to work abroad but the memories of yesteryear's still lives within. No matter what, I am still seeing myself going back to serve ERUF when it's time to go home. I don't know when would it be but for sure I will be joining a hectic ride in the ambulance.
Anyhow, I will be posting more of the Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation's (ERUF) Silver Anniversary later this week for they're going to have a special and a healthy event for a cause that I am sure will surely benefit the least fortunate people in Cebu City and the neighboring areas. So, I am urging everyone to support the group in whatever way you can so they will continue to serve so that others may live.

Why Another Google Page Rank Update?
Three days ago, I was doing my blogging routine at Adgitize when I click the banner of Georyl and was surprised of her post regarding another Google Page Rank update considering that it was just only late June when there was an update. So I did check around if there was really an update (I did not check my blogs yet) but found nothing and most that I opened were from the June update.
I did not check my blogs for the reason that I have already checked them several days ago after I came back from a three-week vacation. In fact, I made a post about it too if there was another Page Rank update because my two blogs which has PR2 before my scheduled vacation in Cebu, Philippines, had fallen one step back. I was a bit sad about it but there’s nothing I can do about it since it’s done already. And Google has made its judgment.
But it’s not the end of it and it seems that in every bad news you’ll get, there’s also the other side of the coin that is good news. So let me share to you the good news which I did not even expect to happen.
My newly migrated blog, Be a Lifesaver Of Goodness, had PR0 a few days before the June update and when I entered the URL on the PR checker I was surprise and I can’t even believe of what I saw from the result. So, can you guess what Page Rank it has right now?
It’s amazing that Big G made another page rank update in August knowing that there were changes noted late June and in July. I have read in various forums that indeed there was an update last June 2011 and when I checked it again late July, there were changes in the PR of my two blogs. Apparently, Google messed up in June Updates and made a corrective actions in late July.
It sounds strange though but I am happy that “Be a Lifesaver Of Goodness” had PR2 already knowing that I just transferred it in the middle of June (PR0) and now in less than two months it has Page Rank of 2.

Joining Another Online Giveaway
This is my entry to Techie She’s Lucky Blogger Weekly Giveaways Week 9. This week’s prize is $10 paypal credits from Lainy of Lainy’s Musings.
I usually don't actively join any online contests and giveaways for one reason that most of it have a very long and difficult to follow and understand the mechanics (I am just showing my being a newbie in this kind of game) but last May 2011 I have joined two contests. One has a prize of 1 year [dot]com domain while the other is a year long free blog hosting. It was kinda perfect at that time since I was considering of migrating my medical/health/safety blog to a self hosted one. So it didn't left me musing for a long time of joining both the contest/giveaway.
Then I actively promoted one of my entry "Star of Life" in the most interesting blog award contest but eventually didn't work through and even didn't reach the second round. While my entry at Techie She's Lucky Blogger Weekly Giveaways became so lucky and I became the first winner of her three month long (16 weeks) giveaways with various prizes at stake. I was contacted by Sheryl after the announcement was made and I immediately replied since I am so excited to transfer my blog.
Once it was done, it was the start of a long ordeal of how to handle the migration process since it was hosted in wordpress and I know nothing or anything about WP for I am in blogger from the start of my blogging days in 2008. It was a hurdle at first while trying to familiarize myself the tricks around WP but in the end I was able to manage and successfully migrated "Be a Lifesaver Of Goodness" to it's new home.
And now for Week 9 of Techie She Lucky Blogger Weekly Giveaways, the prize at stake is $10 via Paypal sponsored by Lainy's Musings and I am joining again in the contest. Since winning in the week one of her contest, I did not join again until now for I wanted to give way to others who the same like me wanted to win a free blog hosting opportunity. One of the requirements is to make a blog or even your previous blog and just use the word of the week. And this week's word is "MUSING".
So hurry up if you haven't posted your entry because the submission of entries will close in 12hrs from now.
