Breaking the glass ceiling

Advancement in the corporate ladder of women often times faced a road block compared to their male counterparts. The corporate world may be progressive in many ways yet it needs to catch up with gender favoritism or should I say glass ceiling. Women are almost nowhere to be found in any executive offices even though both men and women are in equal numbers in the labor force but the top management posts is the stronghold of men.

Women, until now, are still struggling to break the glass ceiling in spite of the existing equal employment opportunity law. And many employers didn’t pay much attention to it thereby, limiting the upward advancement of women and this holds true in almost all countries. Women have made great pace but not quite broken through it yet. And if they are able to surpass that hurdle, they still feel like they are outsiders. It is so evident in the statistics and the data shows less than 10 percent of women are holding the top management positions. Although it is now slowly catching up but the disparity in gender gap is still pervasive and the glass ceiling may not be shattered any moment from now, but there are many holes in it than before.

The Power of Non-Violence...

A wordless Monday and so sharing this story could only benefit one thing. I found this story the power of Non-Violence in one of my blog hopping. Read on...

Dr. Arun Gandhi, grandson of Mahatma Gandhi and founder of the M.K. Gandhi Institute for Non-violence, in his June 9 lecture at the University of Puerto Rico, shared the following story as an example of "non-violence in parenting":

"I was 16 years old and living with my parents at the institute my grandfather had founded 18 miles outside of Durban, South Africa, in the middle of the sugar plantations. We were deep in the country and had no neighbors, so my two sisters and I would always look forward to going to town to visit friends or go to the movies.

One day, my father asked me to drive him to town for an all-day conference, and I jumped at the chance. Since I was going to town, my mother gave me a list of groceries she needed and, since I had all day in town, my father ask me to take care of several pending chores, such as getting the car serviced. When I dropped my father off that morning, he said, 'I will meet you here at 5:00 p.m., and we will go home together.'

After hurriedly completing my chores, I went straight to the nearest movie theater. I got so engrossed in a John Wayne double-feature that I forgot the time. It was 5:30 before I remembered. By the time I ran to the garage and got the car and hurried to where my father was waiting for me, it was almost 6:00.

He anxiously asked me, 'Why were you late?' I was so ashamed of telling him I was watching a John Wayne western movie that I said, 'The car wasn't ready, so I had to wait,' not realizing that he had already called the garage. When he caught me in the lie, he said: 'There's something wrong in the way I brought you up that didn't give you the confidence to tell me the truth. In order to figure out where I went wrong with you, I'm going to walk home 18 miles and think about it.'

So, dressed in his suit and dress shoes, he began to walk home in the dark on mostly unpaved, unlit roads. I couldn't leave him, so for five-and-a-half hours I drove behind him, watching my father go through this agony for a stupid lie that I uttered. I decided then and there that I was never going to lie again.

I often think about that episode and wonder, if he had punished me the way we punish our children, whether I would have learned a lesson at all. I don't think so. I would have suffered the punishment and gone on doing the same thing. But this single non-violent action was so powerful that it is still as if it happened yesterday. That is the power of non-violence."

"Forgiveness is giving up my right to hate you for hurting me.”

Surprising sports venue : Half Clay Half Grass

I've been following Fedex and Rafa for I believe more than a decade already but it is also ironic why I have missed this kind of event in their duel of supremacy.

I was smiling when I first saw this one, thinking of two different type of courts that both are master of their own.

Check out the whole article of this "Half Clay and Half Grass" tournament between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

Holiday festivities

Today is the start of our holiday festivities and one thing for sure, this is not the only one and definitely it will not end today. There are already something in the line for planning. And we all know what's with every festivities. For sure the diet plans (if there's any) won't be followed or perhaps be broken (again?).

So this is just a quick post today before everyone's get crazy and drunk. I'll post ahead of time before the effects of alcohol sets in, in my alcohol hungry brain cells and I might not be able to write anything by that time. Or I might only be writing something about beer, vodka and apple juice.
So let's just see what this holiday festivities will bring later on.

Advertising with Adgitize

There's so many things in my mind but nothing transpire into words to write down except this gibberish post right now. I wanted to write something about why people give up blogging before they are able to produce their first penny. Many have thought also that it's a quick, fast and easy money scheme out there and before they knew it, they start to get bored and eventually left. Most experts believe that a certain blog needs to be up and running for at least three to six months before you will be able to see results or perhaps just an improvement from where you start. Monetizing your blog/s take some time to roll, you need to juice it up, gain page ranking and build your reputation.

Visitors or traffic is one great important thing that we should understand and mastering them is not that easy but not hard as well. Building backlinks is another thing and having merely a visitor is not enough. Getting them back to your site is another story that is quite very important. Getting expose to the blogosphere is in fact necessary if you need to get as many traffic as you want. Building an online reputation and credibility are as significant as the others I've mentioned and this will generate loyal followers in the end.
Advertising your blog is another thing and recently I found a great blog advertising that will give you the much needed traffic especially if you have just started or if you want to see changes in your Alexa rankings and or perhaps your Page Rank. As for my experience, it brought down my Alexa rank from millions to just above 500 thousand and it's still rolling down in the coming weeks. It also tremendously brought down the Alexa ranking in my other blog and the good thing is, it starts to have a Page Rank already and no longer N/A.

Now, I made something worthwhile already (I think and I suppose). Do you? Join Adgitize now and start seeing the fruit of your blogging labor.

Crazy but not stupid

Here's a funny story that I've read last night in my random hopping. Could be you are one of them.

A truck driver was doing his usual load delivery at a mental hospital, by parking his vehicle beside an open drain. He discovered a flat tyre when he was about to return from the mental hospital. He jacked up the truck and removed the flat tyre to fix the spare tire. When he was about to fix the spare tire, he accidentally dropped all the 4 bolts in the open drain. As he could not fish the bolts in the open drain, he started to panic as to what should be done?

Just then, a patient happened to walk past him and asked the driver as to why he was looking troubled. The driver thought to himself, since there is nothing much he can do or this mental joker can. Just to keep the bugging away, the truck driver informed the whole episode to the mental patient and gave a helpless look.

The patient just laughed at the truck driver and said “you just cannot even fix such a simple problem? No wonder you are destined to remain a truck driver for life".

The truck driver was astonished to hear such a compliment from a mental guy.

"Here is what you can do" said the mental guy. "Take one bolt from each of the remaining 3 tires / wheels and fix it on to this tyre. Then drive down to the nearest workshop and replace the missing ones. Isn’t it simple my friend".

The truck driver was so impressed with this quick fix answer and asked the patient "how come you are so smart and intelligent and you are here at the mental hospital?"

The patient replied, "Hello friend! I stay here because I am crazy but not stupid."

No wonder, there are some people, who behave like the Truck Driver, thinking that others are just stupid. So, guys, though you all are learned and wise, but, just watch out, there could be some CRAZY guys in our professional / personal lives, who could give us lot of quick fixes and brush our wisdom.

The moral of the story: Just do not conclude that you know everything and do not judge people by mere looks / attire stature or academic background.

Feeling the Holiday season

We just started decorating the house for the holiday season. Actually, it was late already but at least we already have some holiday decors. We finished this afternoon our 210 cm (6.8 feet) Christmas tree including the lights. My wife told me that it's way better than the one displayed in the mall and if it's the one there, they should sell much more items then. I have taken the picture already but I don't have much time today and I need to rest early for an early work in the morning.

So, just get back here and I'll update this with how tall is our Christmas tree. This will only be a short post for now.

Tide of Change

The pace of climate change is inevitable, the industrial pollutions and the by products of daily living triggers temperature to get warm faster than most scientist had expected. That is greatly felt in the Arctic region. And one of the climate scientists is reintroducing wild horses, hairy beasts and more grass eating animals into the vast icy land of Siberia in the hope of reducing greenhouse gases to slow the pace of global warming. He is trying to recreate the ice age where we can only be seen during our great grandmother’s time.

He wants to make the vast icy land that supports only a shady larch tree and shrubs into an ecosystem of herbivores and sumptuous grasslands. The scientist believes in the theory that filling it with these animals can somehow slow down the global warming. He further explains that the moment the herbivores settled into millions of species, “it will keep wild grass short and healthy, sending up fresh shoots and the manure will provide nourishment. During winter, the animals trample and flatten the snow that would insulate the ground from the cold air and that helps prevent the frozen ground from melting and releasing powerful greenhouse gases.”

The goal is to see whether the population of grazing animals will regenerate grasslands which would slow or halt the accelerating pace of permafrost meltdown so we won’t be lamenting the unnatural warming of the earth. But the journey is still way far from reality yet for now, results are encouraging, he says. This remote Arctic research posts now has 70 animals in the park but he will be needing thousands of them to eventually see the difference.

2022 World Cup Announcement

Earlier today, it sets back in my mind about a significant event that will happen and I’m sure a lot are following about this one, most especially to the football aficionados. And two or three countries will be celebrating and I am not just talking of celebration but lavish celebration is what I meant. Today is the 2018 and 2022 World Cup announcement for the winners of the hosting rights and what caught my attention is one of the bidding nations for 2022 is a tiny nation in the Arabian Peninsula which is Qatar. I would say that this is another David and Goliath bout were the former always win in the fight. Qatar has slain the likes of Uncle Sam, the land down under, the samurais and the taekwondo masters. I think Qatar World Cup bid deserves to get the rights to hold the most prestigious and the biggest single sport event. History was made as World Cup heads to the Middle East.

I always make a comparison of Qatar map as the appendix of human body. If you look at it, it just protrudes from Saudi Arabia just like our appendix. Despite being a tiny nation with, I believe, less than 1.5 million population, the people itself has big hearts for the love of football. I think it’s time for Qatar to shine after they lost in their bid for the 2016 Olympic Games. Qatar will be building state of the art stadiums and that is air-conditioned stadiums considering that the World Cup games will be held on June and July which will be the peak of summer. Temperatures may soar to 110 – 115 degrees F but that doesn't deter Qatar to make an ambitious plan for the benefit of the whole state, which I believe they utterly deserve to host the 2022 World Cup

Sick Day

Today is officially a sick day but no sick leave, have to go to work later tonight. Down with cough and colds is not good especially the annoying post nasal drip is killing me. I felt terrible last night and seems my body is hot , I felt feverish but I don't get any fever. My temperature is just 99.1 yet it seems that the air that I exhale is hot and warm. I'm on water therapy only, not taking any meds for now but so hated whe you kept on going back to the latrine.

Ok, off to bed now... better have an early rest for the blogging tomorrow and hope to catch up with pending assignments.,

The first Clasico ends in...

The first of the two Clasico this season ends in...

You guess, I'm sure you watched the game last night but if you did not then hear this out. The first el Clasico at Camp Nou ends in a humiliating loss of Real Madrid. The Los Blancos were routed by Barca and ripped apart Jose Mourinho's defense and torn apart in a humiliating 5 - 0 defeat.

27 November 2010

Unfamiliar territory

The world of football has become lively in these past few months with some surprises that pop out unexpectedly. Just like what happened to the US women soccer team who were in deep trouble when they are thrown into the pit hole with a stunning loss from the feet of the Mexicans in the CONCACAF semifinals. However with strong resilience, they emerge victorious in a 2 game home-and-home playoff with the Azzurres. They have beaten the Italians 1 nothing on both occasions and salvage the last spot for the Women’s World Cup in Germany next year.

The Americans were in an unfamiliar territory since in most instances they easily grab those spot without any problem but this time they were joggling in a different road that most did not expect. They have won the tournament twice and it was their second loss since the 2007 World Cup and this indeed, a strange and unfamiliar territory for the top ranked Americans. They have to play a playoff game in order to clinch the last berth.

While two days from now, your world will be rocked by the first El Clasico match up with a more hype Los Blancos and the resurging Barca. The Merengues are unbeaten and at the top but the Catalans are just 1 point adrift and with the eagerly anticipated clasico, Villareal cut the advantage from the top two with a 3-0 home away win. It started to shape and looks like to be another Real and Barca league but Villareal stay in the hunt, at least for now.

Cooking turkey on El Clasico

The El Classico 2010 will be the true test of Real Madrid’s resurgence on top of La Liga and Monday’s game will be the first of two Clasico. As the day is nearing the talk around it and the supporters are hot as deep frying a turkey on Thanksgiving Day. So far, they have displayed remarkable performance and results although the Los Blancos is on top of the leader board but was separated only by a single point advantage. Since the loss from Hercules earlier in the season, Barca bounced back from a relatively slow start and never lost again.

Madrid on the other hand, remains unbeaten in all competitions so far and Cristiano Ronaldo is in top shape and leads the score sheet. And Monday’s el clasico, will feature two of football’s influential coaches and the world’s two best players. The Merengues are in a four game losing streak against Barca and this game isn’t as easy as roasting a turkey considering that they are playing at Nou Camp. Yet there’s a completely different Real Madrid going into the pitch that was revolutionized with new signings last summer. That is another reason which the leader board is now starting to take shape as who will remain atop in the standings and could be another game between the two of them.

Once you’re done with your cooking turkey festivities, don’t forget to bookmark 29 November for El Clasico.

Of crispy bacon and one tired 4 month boy

Today is another stressful day but even so, it is still a great day. My little boy arrived last night from his mini vacation that brought grandparents and close relatives to joy and happiness yet at the same time sad for it will take several months before they gonna see him again.
This is how tired he was after a long 10 hours flight. And as I was uploading this photo of him, I came across the picture below that I want my wife to look at it and prove to her that I ate crispy bacon at some point in one chilly breakfast when they are gone for vacation.
Sorry for I have nothing much to say today, I have to deal with the change of body clock of our baby and that would mean change in sleeping time as well.

Traffic is the lifeblood of earning online

Driving traffic to your blog is the lifeblood of earning online and once it starts congesting, it will have a domino effect in your rankings. Though it may not be the only reason but it should be the guiding goal. Now the question is, the cyberspace is a vast super highway and most of the time it would be hard for you to attract readers and followers of your blog. Attracting readers and followers is another thing but looking where to find them is one big hurdle for bloggers. For sure some of you are probably into traffic exchange sites already though that helps somehow but it’s a headache if you just keeps on clicking ads every few seconds.

Right now I will be talking about the Adgitize Network. Although I’m pretty much a newbie there, I just came to know this wonderful advertising company early August and that time I sign up as a publisher and was earning $0.01 per day (what a dismal earning, right?). It would just be another waste of time. The following month there was a change and I am already earning $0.15 but still that is not enough and by the time I knew the way around (not most of it though), my earnings jumped to $0.34 already. Then few days ago (four days to be exact) I started advertising and a surge in my daily earnings have been reflected. Guess what how much I earned? I averaged $0.75 in those three days and if you’re going to sum it up, you’ll get a monthly take of $22.50, not bad at all when you only invest $14 to advertise.

Adgitize lives to what they are advertising for, “The perfect advertising solution for Bloggers”. Aside from the low monthly fee, you’ll get thousands of potential visitors daily. That’s what Ken Brown had said, the lightning quick administrator of Adgitize. He always replied to your questions as fast as that then he will guide you on what you need to do according to what you asked for. I have nothing but great experience in there and there are number of ways how to increase your daily earnings and that is synonymous to blog traffic soar. And what I like most from the seven reasons why you should Adgitize your blog is this, “Spend your time blogging and let Adgitize send you traffic”.

See, isn’t that great. As early as today, I am sure that I will be able to get my first payment in Adgitize.

El Clasico 2010

As the first El Clasico 2010 meeting is nearing, so does the ever growing confidence of players in both side and that they will runaway with the first win. If you ask the los Blancos, they're going to win in this derby and on the other side, you'll hear the same thing especially that the 2010 El Classico, which is also known as "El derbi Espanyol" will be played in Barcelona on 29 Nov, exactly 11 days from now. The current standings adds up to the thrill and excitement of this first salvo. If Real wins then they gonna clear themselves atop the leaderboard by 4 points and if they lose then Barca gonna overtake them in the standings by just 2 points and  they will grab the top spot again. But that 2 points is very much crucial knowing that Barca took a nerve ending 3 points ahead Real last season. Not only that, a win for Barca will give them the much needed boost since they are thrilling behind Real Madrid from the start of the season.

The Madrid vs Barca match is supposed to be played on 27 Nov. was postponed and rescheduled on the 29th of Nov due to the Catalan elections that take place on 28 November. So don't forget to clear your schedules if you like to watch El Clasico 2010.

Title showdown at Yas Marina Abu Dhabi

This is the continuation of the double header event yesterday. I was talking about Pacquiao winning the fight against Margarito in a brutal way of demolishing him. In fact, the latest news is that Margarito needs surgery for a fracture in his right eye socket. Get well soon...!

The other biggest event yesterday was the season ending formula 1 grand prix, the "title showdown at Yas Marina Abu Dhabi". What made it special is that there are four drivers vying for the championship title and any slight mistake would cost them big. So picture this out, Alonso who is the race leader had 246 points, Webber has 238, Vettel is on third with 231 points and Hamilton in last position with 222 points. As you can see, it is still anyone's ball game and technically Hamilton has still a chance even if it's very slim. You can do the math so you can picture how difficult and deep that Hamilton needs to dig. He needs to win in the race and making sure that Alonso will be out of the top 10 so he won't get any points at all. But it doesn't end right there, he also needs Vettel to just finish third or lower and Webber should not be higher than sixth place.

But that doesn't matter at all since this happened yesterday and there's a champion already. And who do you think took the formula 1 title? So to cut the suspense short, it's another history in the making and that's the reason why.
Vettel took all the limelight from pole position until the chequered flag. And the history is, he became the youngest formula 1 champion, just 195 days younger than Hamilton. That's how full of thrill and excitement the formula 1 title showdown at Yas Marina Abu Dhabi. Tune back next year for the 2011 season in Bahrain on 11 March and that could be another history in the making. So watch out for it.

Pacquaio vs Margarito results

There are two big events that happened today (14 Nov 2010), two history in the making in the sporting occasion. I watched Manny Pacquiao vs Antonio Margarito fight video in pay per view with friends early this morning and I'm sure at this time you already know the result. The fight shows that sometimes height is not a might, more especially in the world of boxing as Pacman brutally demolished the Tijuana Tornado for the vacant WBC super welterweight title, making another history by capturing his 8th title in as many weight class. Pacquaio moved up in weight again to take on Margarito, who is a natural welterweight already, in a catch up weight of 150 lbs yet the speed and power of Pacquaio never diminished and Margarito took the beating all night. And that's what made the difference.

Pacquaio vs Margarito results defy many aspects of disadvantages like the 4 1/2 inches in height, the 6 inch reach and the mere body size itself. It is very evident on the face of Margarito from the start of the 4th round. What struck my attention was Pacquiao's attitude in the 11th round when he kept on looking at the referee and was later known that he already wanted the referee to stop the fight for he don't want Margarito to kept taking such a beating and that's not what boxing is about. Even with all the fame and money he had already, he never forget to have his feet remained on the ground.

If you are wondering what is the second event, you better come back tomorrow and watch for the other spectacular triumph and a brilliant youngest world champion.

Celebrate Christmas 2010

I was talking about getting flu shot in my other blog "Be a Lifesaver Of Goodness" yesterday that we should get one ourselves since winter season is inevitable and just around the corner. It would be safe to get one before influenza gets to you first. And winter season is always associated with yuletide season and there's no right time to express what you want to say to your loved ones if not now, especially when you are thousands of miles away from them. I would extend my heartfelt appreciation to my parents and to my family which are very far from me now through the Christmas E-Card below created by NOYPI of Pinoylandia.

This is to support him in joining a contest Celebrate Christmas 2010 with Sulit.com.ph

Long lost friend is in town

I suppose to be doing so many things today but because a long lost friend is in town and wanted to meet up even just for awhile, so blogging has to be moved back a little bit. My daily routine in Adgitize clicks and blog hopping was postponed too in a later time because of it but I think it will not pose a problem since cut off time is still 9hrs away. I still have enough time to catch up from the lost time but the suppose rest schedule will be reduced to almost nothing.

We went to Chowking for dinner and the funny thing was, they were at the newly opened branch near the hotel where they are staying which happened to be also close by at the first opened branch. Since I did not know that there was a new branch opened already, I went to the later but my instincts is telling me something different. And Voila...!! Indeed, my instinct is right, we are at opposing sides.

Dinner went by so fast, as we are catching up with anything that we reminisce from college days and the adventure in life that we have had. I was having fun in the met up together with the cool friends (K & N) who was there. Most of our time was full of laugh out loud. Then we went to The Villagio to grab something before heading back to their solitary life again under the black hood. And because of the fun that we had, we forgot that it was past 10 already and when we were inside the mall, almost all of the shops were closed already which left us no other choice but to head back home.

I dropped them by at their hotel and I continue my journey home to finish my online money making adventure. And that was the story of a long lost friend is in town. How about you, have your meet your long lost friend/s recently?

Article Writing gig

It's nice to be doing what you love the most and at the same time you get to practice them which is good in the long run. I always have the passion in article writing yet because of circumstances in life that you need to work in order to survive and most of all to provide, there are times that you won't be able to do them. Lately, it's a coincidence that I bumped again with my online friend whom now became my mentor in online money making. She taught me the way around and some difficult technicalities to monetize and maximize your blog traffic. There are times that it's causing me a headache with all the stuff like the "html" thingy event hough I have some (very little actually) knowledge about it but because of long inactivity, it starts to fade in my aged memory.

Three months ago, fedhz invited me if I could write articles for her (I'm not sure why she did it) then it's already the start of the new beginning remembering my passion to write again and practice my article making skills (I'm just assuming that I have). If you have the passion to write and would like to join our article writing gig, why not join us and start your online money making and it could be another way that you can forget about your PTC clicks.

Does SEO keywords affect your blog?

It’s barely three months since I started venturing into freelance writing and try to become active again in my blog sites. Although it’s been more than two years since I created my site with blogspot, I have no luck bringing traffic into it. It might be because I am not actively promoting it or simply I don’t know how to. So far, things went by smoothly and I was able to earn some descent extra savings though it’s not that big as you thought it is yet that is just enough for me since I have a day job that I am depending on. I would say that I am well compensated in my current job and I am lucky to be working in the company.

Anyway, let’s go back to my new interest in online money making and my new way of how to earn extra bucks. It’s not a coincidence that I have this opportunity fell on my lap. I have known this person through online participation in different social networking sites. It all started when we bumped into each others path in myLot and least I expect that I will be offered an online opportunity through article writing after more than a year without any communication at all. After two months in continuous writing articles I’ve learned so many things and she taught me a lot of things and the way around on how to optimize your earning process.

Some weeks ago when I started doing SEO keywords, I found it awkward to write something that is wrong spelled especially that I am writing informative article. I was able to understand why it has to be that way after all her explanation, yet I still have something at the back of my mind. I know how important SEO is in our blog but how about the effects of it in the content/s of our blog. More especially that people are looking for information. Will it affect the credibility and reputation of the blogger?

Does SEO keywords affect your blog? What's your experience?

Star of Life

What i have to tell you is not easy to understand & often not given some importance. But if you will listen to this story then maybe in the end you'll believe me.

Right in the middle of this unbelievable symphony of life, there's you & me and every other human being on earth. How many realize what a privilege it is to be a "STAR OF LIFE". Somewhere along the course of life, we stumble into the world of emergency response, whether ambulance or all terrain vehicles, on motorcycle. Every hour of every day they speed to the scene of accidents & illnesses to render medical & psychological assistance. Sometimes they risk their own health or jeopardize their own safety just to try save someone's life.
"Sorry if we woke you in the middle of the night. Sorry if we block the road & make you turn around because someone in your neighborhood is fighting for his life. When you see us coming, we hope you'll understand and let us have the right of way..."

Everyday we face death & anguish, sorrow & pain in many ways. We work as hard as we can despite our feelings of hopelessness. There are times when God allow us to intervene with a hand full of skills & knowledge to do our work. But there are also times when God take it away & there's nothing that we, as a person with finite abilities are going to be able to change. People are going to die & let’s just accept the fact that there are really some things we cannot do anymore. How do you continue to feel good about yourself when the life of people slips through your hands despite of all our efforts to keep them alive? Even in good times we are frequently overcome with despair, we're bombarded with verbal & physical abuse. People just demand that we get there fast & perform miracles. You did not know how much we suffer from the emotional agony of trying to save lives but failed to do. You never know how it feels. You might not see it but deep inside we also need emotional care. Because we are just humans... like you, ordinary people with deep compassion for humanity. If you want to be handled by us, you will have to let us do our job the way you are best protected from further injury. But a lot of people aren't going to notice. A lot of people aren't going to understand. We work long hours. We miss family dinners, birthdays, holidays & special gatherings. Even off duty, the images of human sufferings reel through our mind.

Despite the pitfalls, we have great pride in what we do. We have deep sense of purpose & personal satisfaction. We love what we do & we go to school to do it the best way we can, maybe we can make a difference, "SAVE A LIFE." That's the greatest satisfaction we get.

"God gave us something special to help us see you through, somewhere deep within us. We're here to help our neighbors in their hour of pain & doubt. We do it not because of the money - - you know we don't get paid - - but because we love you & we care about you."

We don't do it for the glory but for a life that might be saved. When we do save someone's life, have nothing to do with rewards or praises because saving lives is not an accomplishment but a way of life & is its own reward. You are very fortunate to have volunteers like them to depend on in times of crisis... and many are not going to understand --- unless you are one of them.

My online money making story

There are days in our life that we like to write, compose poems, journals or article but even how much we tried to scribble something yet, it just simply cannot transpire into words. There are so many ideas in our mind ready to pop out and to be inspired by readers but it is just another day that seems so gloomy.
Indeed, most of my compositions or the poems that I have written were molded and comes in being when I was down and so low. Those were the days when relationships fails and seems not working out. In this life, I found so many uncertain things and there are instances that you thought you already shaken off the cloak of uncertainty but you end up in a closed door.
I've been writing some compositions and poems in the past which you can find in Triond  and Wikinut Recently, I ventured into freelance writing and somehow it bears good fruit and in my first month, I was able to earn a descent $60+. You can see the proof of payment here ;or click on the image below.

There's a vast resource of income generating opportunity that still needs to be tapped in the internet. You can even act as a publisher or advertiser thereby monetizing your blog site. I recommend Adgitize (just click on the banner at the top of the page) if you don't have one yet or not happy with your existing one. The most important thing is, it brings traffic to your site which we all know is very much important in order for your blog to get viewed and increase your ranking.

Borrowed Time

Life is full of uncertainties and life’s circumstances are not always what we wished them to be. Life holds no guarantees of how long our loved ones will live and no one of us knows until when our borrowed times be put to an end. What tomorrow brings, we cannot know… what the future brings, only God knows.

Grief and loss are of natural process in our life but dealing with it seems to be very difficult. Each of us has different ways of coping with the loss, most especially if it is our loved ones. Even though we knew that this borrowed life will be taken away from us yet, we still at times carry the burden of the emotional pain from the loss. No one has ever prepared us to be at the same shoe even if we have experience the same loss some time in our life.

They are gone and life will never be the same… but life is not about losing people, it’s about loving them when they are here and cherish them when they are gone. Don’t waste the opportunity to say something when you have the time to do it because we don’t know how long we’ll have that opportunity. Don’t wait the time when their name is chiseled on a cold marble stone… because no amount of regret can recover the wasted time.

Tricks on PSP

Who said you can't teach old dogs with new tricks?

I guess there's always an exception in every rule and there's always something different out in the pack. He's 65 something years old but still very serious in playing with his PSP, luckily he wasn't using his iPod nano. Pay much attention on how serious he is, this contraption doesn't end at the hands of the younger generation and even sexagenarians still can play the game. This could be his past time and gone the years when farming is the fav. Who knows, some are still growing seeds and toiling in the fields, but I suspect it was done in Farmville.!!

It's funny how things have been right now, it's all because of sophistication and anywhere you can play your favorite games. Anyone saving for the release of the new game in town? I am talking about the new Xbox console game, Kinect for Xbox 360.

Baby Seth's arrival in Cebu

I was able to breathe with relief upon knowing that my family arrived safely in Cebu yesterday afternoon. I was able to see both of them in the webcam via Skype. This is what technology is all about, bringing family close to each other even you are thousands of miles away. The grandparents were excited upon seeing their first grandson but was surprise to see the rashes that baby Seth have, all over his body including his scalp. It’s one of the main reasons why they went home, so he could be checked by doctors in Cebu.

Baby Seth’s mom still groggy from the long flight, jet lag and most especially, baby Seth was acting up in the plane. He became an instant celebrity that almost all of the passengers were looking towards their seat when he keep on crying during the lights of the plane were turn off. I just hope the passengers are able to sleep and rest and so sorry for the inconvenience our son has brought them. Thanks also to those who have help them with their baggage during departure and upon arrival in Cebu.

RIP - El Pulpo Paul

Does anyone still remember Paul?

He became famous and rise to global prominence earlier this year after his all time no mistake predictions in the recent World Cup in Africa. All of his predictions resulted as winner including the final games between Spain and the Netherlands. I think a lot didn't expect Spain to emerge as winner yet they snatch the limelight after the famous octopus choose them to win the biggest single sport tournament and the most prestigious sport. Least that everyone would know that it was just the beginning of Spain's spectacular year, they also won the most and prestigious cycling event "Tour de France" and Rafa punctuated and completed the Grand Slam event for Spain by winning his first ever US Open (one of the four grand slam tournament).

Paul died of natural cause and according to reports that he have reach the old age of 2 1/2 years, he died in his tank in Germany. One of the Spanish town made him an honorary friend for what he did in the World Cup. Officials from the aquarium said that they might give Paul a small burial plot within their grounds and have a permanent shrine to best commemorate him.

Goodbye Paul and rest in peace. He is of British descent.

Scrip of the Songs

I could still remember what we have before
you reminded me of a love I knew
you came and change something within,
I know by then I wanna be with you,
to be the one who’s in your arms.
We make ourselves laugh in small things
I got excited every time I’m going to see you.

Never had I spoken so freely,
so comfortably with someone.
The smell of your scent,
the sound of your voice
painted in my memories,
you gave me faith to find my dreams.

All these words make no sense
I find bliss in ignorance.
I thought you were just the best I ever had
But I just end up getting hurt again.

Home alone in a big house

I will be living a solitary life from this day on and perhaps for about a month, not that I'm going to be a hermit or for any religious reason. I'll be home alone again in this three bedroom house, with only four solid walls that I can talk to. The house looks like it has been recently deserted but actually it's kinda like that, with the exception that they will surely be coming back.

Anyway, the saddest part was to say take care and be careful to your family when they are about to fly home for a deserving vacation and more to enjoy. I just came back from the airport several hours ago for the sending off of my wife and our son, they are going to the Philippines. It's our son's first time to travel by air and the second for my wife to be alone travelling a long flight. It's quite sad to think that I won't be going with them and most devastating for the thought that my wife is alone bringing our little child who just turn 13 weeks recently. I cannot imagine what it's like when our son will be acting up while up in the air and she is all alone to take care of him. Their flight will be about 10 hours and 30 minutes, quite a very long flight for a little child like him.

I'm just hoping everything will just be fine and turn out all right when they land safely at Mactan Cebu International Airport tomorrow afternoon.

The Story of Our Lives

People come and people go
in this cruel and lonely world,
where hope is so fragile
attached on a thin line, so volatile.

The door of happiness closes,
another soon to be opened.
Though it is not easy
but for sure, there should be a way.

Deep in the stillness of hope,
there’s more to life than only bitterness.
And for awhile, everything seemed clear,
I am certain that I’ll never be alone.

Tears on My Heart

I can’t wait to live my life again
it’s been stagnant since you left me hangin’,
not because i wasn’t able to let go and move on.
it’s just, i don’t know where to start.

There are so many apprehensions,
riddled with so much uncertainties,
too afraid of what will happen if it fails
yet, so hard giving up what you love the most
but it wore no trinket of promise.

Moving on is not just closing the doors of the past,
it’s also about having peace of mind on everything.
when i finally meet the right person,
i will know how to be grateful for that gift…
that we simply cannot have things our way.

Countries allowed by Paypal

With the advent of making money online or earning some extra money in the internet you need to have a legitimate money processor in order for you to receive and get your hard earned money. There are so many money processors out there and one of it is Paypal and you can sign up for free. I am not sure if Paypal is the oldest among all but I believe it is a legitimate and secured money processor.

If you still don't have one then you can sign up here.

After you register with Paypal there are other things that you need to know as well, because not all countries have the privilege what other countries have. What I meant is, there are countries that can send and receive money from Paypal but not all are able to withdraw this earnings from your Paypal account and transfer it in your local bank account. So I am making this to ease up those burden and for anyone to check first which country does allowed Paypal and which one doesn't.

The following countries are the only one who has the option or has the privilege to SEND, RECEIVE AND WITHDRAW to a LOCAL or US Bank Account or a card. Which means you CAN send and receive payments and withdraw from your Paypal account to your country's bank account.

- Czech Republic - Indonesia - Portugal
- Denmark - Ireland - Reunion
- Finland - Japan - Slovakia
- French Guiana - Luxembourg - South Korea
- Greece - Martinique - Sweden
- Guadeloupe - New Zealand - Taiwan
- Hungary - Norway - Thailand
- India - Philippines

If your country is not included in the above list then check the link below to see what your country offers.

Save Geraldine

Life..!! you really don't know what will happen next, what tomorrow brings... we cannot know.

I was watching Rated K in TFC (The Filipino Channel) and couldn't believe the horrific story of a used to be beauty queen, turned into a different face when she was afflicted with a kidney disease and a metabolic disorder while on dialysis. It changed her life, the life of her family and to those around her poignantly, not knowing that a once beauty diva could be like that. You can see the difference on the photo below.

Financial difficulty is one of the reason why she looks different already and could be the sole reason why she acquired such disorder. She had a tragic story but Geraldine or commonly known as "Dane" did not lose hope and faith. Her husband was there all the time and was her only determination when at once she want to let it go already.

If you want to help Geraldine go to her website or at Facebook, just search "Save Geraldine J. Oliva" or just click here. You can see all the informations there, where to send the amount you want to extend. Or you can also send her an email at savegeraldine@yahoo.com.

A Chance

What’s with these words that it’s so hard for us to give it a try?
All I’m asking is a chance to prove it.
Why are we so afraid to take a risk?
Was it because of the previous hurt that we felt?
Was it because it created a scar
at one time in our life?

If you believe in something good
Then give it a chance to happen.
Some things are found only when they’re lost
And we have met better persons because of that scars.

Life can be very lonely when somewhere along the way,
one loses hope.
No matter how tough the situations seem to be,
no frail hope if you keep believing.

Have faith and see them for they are just there.
I may not know what lies ahead
But I do have the will worth taking that risk.
